I was so thrilled to hear from my client that their Rheumatology appointment came through so quickly.
They have been living with chronic pain for years and a few things they mentioned during their last appointment prompted me to re-go over their entire medical history and ask some more questions about their chronic pain history and pattern of pain, looking at it with fresh eyes.
This is where my high level of training and ongoing CPD, plus my years of experience, flagged up some of the things they mentioned COULD be more than just ‘normal’ MSK pain.
So I had the discussion with my client about why I felt they should see their GP, and offered to write a referral letter to their GP to support what they we’re going to say.
This referral letter helped advocate for my client. The GP looked into it and referred them onwards to the Rheumatology department for further special tests and scans.
The reason I am sharing this is because sometimes MSK pain / muscle or joint pain, can be signs of an underlying condition. And if the underlying condition is not properly treated I could massage you every single day and still never help you to get on top of your pain.
So this is how much Soft Tissue Therapy can really help people to understand, manage and improve their pain.
✅ Yes we can give an incredible massage….
✅ Yes we know some incredible advanced techniques…
✅ Yes we can take a tired and painful body and help you feel incredible in it…
✅Yes we can give you incredible treatment, advice and support while you’re getting to the root cause of your pain…
AND we can also recognise when it’s not something we can help you fix alone, and support you to get to the help you need to thrive.
If you’ve got a few minutes, this video is well worth a watch.
And if I can be of help to you or someone you know, get in touch - I’m here to help.

PS For info the client in question was being referred to Rheumatology by the GP for suspected Psoriatic Arthritis. But there are many inflammatory conditions which is why Rheumatology were the people to look into it. These conditions could include rheumatoid arthritis, axial spondyloathritis, any losing spondyloarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, reactive arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica - and many more.
PPS The National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society have a brilliant website with lots of help which is well worth a visit www.nass.co.uk
