Have you ever been told ‘you’re in fight or flight’, experiencing ‘a stress response’, ‘chronically stressed’ or even ‘experiencing burnout’?
Then the chances are you’re aware that our nervous systems are incredible, but we need to get better at realising the ‘stress’ we’re experiencing isn’t that we’re being hunted for sport, or chased by a bear.
Easier said than done, because our nervous system decides that, not our conscious mind.
So what actually can we do to regulate our nervous system, get out of that pesky fight or flight mode and effectively calm down all the symptoms that can come along with it (pain, anxiety, racing thoughts etc)???
Well, MASSAGE is an incredible to do this! And when you have a regular massage it all adds up!
You know that feeling when you feel like you could literally float home after an incredible massage? Thats what we’re aiming for here. That’s the state we want you to be in.
Feeling good FEELS GOOD because it’s DOING GOOD!!
There are some other incredible ways people help regulate their nervous system that you can do day to day to keep on top of things, then that regular massage is not only the icing on the cake, but can feel like a full re-set.
Some ideas are:
Mindfulness
Meditation
Exercise
Walking the dog
Spending time with pets
Doing things you love
Spending time with the people you love
Laughing
Floating in the sea
Laying in the sunshine on the grass or beach (maybe that’s one for the summer!!)
Spa day
Candle lit bath
Listening to your favourite music (it might not be my favourite, but Classical definately does something amazing to my brain!)
There’s so many ways we can help lower our stress and feel good, some take a few minutes, and some we can enjoy for 60 or 90 minutes at a time 😉
